Building a team of multi-disciplinary designers, we established what ‘good’ is for a design practice and culture inside a deeply engineer focused space while proving to our clients and partners why design matters

Accomplishments at ConsenSys
Growing a Design Culture in the world of blockchain
With my partner, we envisioned the type of culture we wanted to create, entrepreneurial, caring, supportive, but driven. We hired key members of the team, and shaped the studio to align with our goals. We're responsible for aligning with account and business development, validating the type of work we want to take on, and pursuing those opportunities.
In six months we had a team that bore no resemblance to the initial design groups in ConsenSys, but has maintained the best of all their cultures. We've successfully managed the transition to a single set of methods and activities. We've formed a culture of constant critique, support and validation.
When my partner moved positions in the company at the end of 2018, I took over responsibility for the studio globally, with an incredible group of people supporting.
While leading design at ConsenSys I have had the opportunity to speak at our Dublin offsite, build a new brand for our solutions group, and establish the role of design for our global solutions teams. Currently I am preparing a talk for SXSW on the topic of designing trust in enterprise blockchain products.
